Lahore : Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that no nation can achieve progress without education. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Punjab government is providing all out resources to equip talented youth with education.
He was addressing to a ceremony held for position holder students of Lahore Intermediate Board at Aiwan-e-Iqbal today. He said that according to the vision of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Punjab government is taking revolutionary measures for the promotion of education in the province.
He said that first time in the history 400 percent more funds have been allocated in the fiscal year budget 2016 than 2007-08.
He said that seventy thousand teachers are being recruited to impart education to the youth throughout the province. Whereas 36 thousand new classrooms are being constructed for the provision of quality education to the youth. He said that Punjab Chief Minister has promoted culture of merit in the province.
Rana Mashhood said that Punjab is taking revolutionary measures for the promotion of education in the province. He said that beside substantial increase in the volume of Punjab Endowment Fund, distribution of laptops, solar lamps, guard of honour and study tour of foreign universities are encouraging steps for the promotion of education.
He said that on the instruction of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, laptops have been distributed among the position holder girl students of class 9. He said that under Chief Minister’s Chinese Language Scholarship Programme, boy and girl students are being sent to Beijing to impart Chinese language. He said that a talented son Farhan Javed of a Junior Clerk of DCO Office Jhelum is being sent to Cambridge University on scholarship. Later, Provincial Minister gave laptops, certificates, medals and cash prizes among position holders boy and girl students.
Chairman Lahore Board Ch. Muhammad Ismail, Deputy Secretary Higher Education Department Irtaza Naqvi, Controller Lahore Board Nasir Jamil, parents of boy and girl students, teachers besides other personalities were also present on the occasion.
