Lahore : Chairman of the United Business Group (UBG) of FPCCI Iftikhar Ali Malik has asked the national business leaders to prepare a detailed plan for economic recovery which will be presented to government for approval.
He has also directed to establish facilitation centres for Gwadar and CPEC in the FPCCI Capital House to help Pakistani businessmen get full information about these projects so that they can invest in the same.
Iftikhar Ali Malik has also decided to activate Islamic Chamber of Commerce of which a critical meeting in scheduled in Turkey soon.
According to the details, Mr. Malik met with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar before leaving for Hajj during which he said that the issues of real estate sector are not fully resolved and stakeholders have reservations.
Many industries have gone sick which must be revived with the active support of the government while the inclination of industrialists towards real estate and trading must be seen as a threat, the veteran business leader added.
He informed the finance minister that Patron-in-Chief of UBG SM Muneer, Secretary General Zubair Tufail, President FPCCI Abdul Rauf Alam and Vice President Khalid Tawab have been working on plan for economic recovery which will be presented to the government soon.
Meanwhile, he said in a statement issued from Makah he said that recession has not only hit Pakistan but also Saudi Arabia. A lot of industries have gone dead that can be revived through investment by Pakistani entrepreneurs, he said.
He added that apart from industrial sector there are lot of opportunities in the kingdom in other sector that can be capitalised as Saudi government is diversifying the economy.
He also said that positive activities are gaining momentum ahead of elections of chamber of commerce which is heartening and he will start serving business community with a renewed vigour upon return to Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has congratulated Iftikhar Ali Malik on performing Hajj. He also paid tribute to his services to the business community.
