Lahore : Mughal Society of Pakistan (MSP) has asked the government to initiate mandatory military training for every citizen of the country to make Pakistan more strong and resilient.
Mandatory military service and combat training is practiced in dozens of countries which increases the strength of the participants and military, strengthens the character of youth, and increases the collective conscience of a nation, said Baig Raj, President MSP.
Speaking to a ceremony held in connection with Defence of Pakistan Day, Baig Raj said that military training offers invaluable experiences like a shift in perspective that can help them see life differently, inspire them to work harder in the future, and foster a greater sense of purpose and responsibility.
National service produces valuable character traits, young people are taught respect for authority, self-discipline, teamwork and leadership skills, he added.
He said that everyone should learn some art or skill to make Pakistan a developed country while government can link it to academic degree.
He asked the youth to practice ethics, learn first aid skills and donate blood to help the humanity as Mughal community has taken dozens of social work initiatives.
MPA Abdul Rauf Mughal, former minister of state for foreign affairs Akram Zaki, former Chairman PTCL and Chairman of Sultana Foundation Dr Naeem Ghani took oath from the participants for solidarity and security of the state.
The office bearers of Tanzeem-e-Mughlia were given royal award for best social services during the last five years.
