Lahore : Punjab Minister for Labour & HR Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has suspended Principal Workers Welfare School for Boys, Sahuki Maliyaan, Sheikhupura when he paid a surprise visit of the school and found the children out of classrooms playing and making noise even after the end of break time while the Principal Shafqaat Ali along with other school staff was busy enjoying the lunch in connection with the celebration of wedding of a staff member.
The Minister has also issued orders to serve show cause notices to the involved senior teacher Ms. Shazia along with other teaching staff involved in picnic party. The Minister also visited different sections of the schools including library, labs and computer lab and expressed his displeasure over the pathetic condition of the cleanliness and educational facilities.
Raja Ashfaq Sarwar also visited Workers Welfare Girls High School Sahuki Maliyaan, Sheikhupura and expressed his satisfaction over the good condition of discipline, cleanliness, attendance of teaching faculty and overall board results. Raja Ashfaq Sarwar appreciated the performance of the principal of WW School for Girls Ms. Farida Kausar for maintaining discipline and good results.
The Minister during his surprise visit also inspected Social Security Dispensary Mandhiali adjacent of EMCO Tiles factory. He checked the stock register of medicines and inquired from the patients about the facilities being provided to them and their family members.
The Minister also paid surprise visit to a brick kiln near Joiyaanwala More and inspected the implementation of the Child Labour Ordinance 2016. No child labour was found while all the children were found enrolled in nearby government schools.
District Labour Officer Sheikhupura Ch. Muhammad Naeem and other concerned officers along with district administration were also present at this occasion.
