Lahore : Punjab University Institute of Agricultural Science in collaboration with Punjab Forest Department celebrated “National Tree Plantation Day”.
On this occasion, Dean Faculty of Life Sciences Prof Dr Javed Iqbal Qazi, renowned anchor person Noor-ul-Hasan, Muhammad Riaz Mahmood, Provincial Head Zarai Taraqiati Bank Mian Karim Arshad, Director IAGS Prof Dr Muhammad Saleem Haider, faculty members and students were present.
The guests planted a tree with their own names at the Institute of Agricultural Sciences. The main objective of this event was to realize the importance of trees in human life. An awareness walk regarding tree plantation was also organized.
Dr Saleem delivered a brief lecture on the importance of trees among all the participants. He said that climatic changes in Pakistan were due to reduction of trees. He also gave a message to the participants that everyone should plant a tree at their homes. He offered the services of IAGS for such type of activity in future.
