Lahore : On the eve of Independence Day, simple but dignified flag hosting ceremonies held in various government hospitals in which doctors, nurses and paramedical staff participated enthusiastically. On this occasion, national anthem and national songs were sung by the staff. Special prayers were offered for the progress and prosperity of the country.
In Mayo Hospital, MS Dr. Amjad Shehzad along with other doctors and the staff hoisted national flag. On this occasion, tributes were paid to the martyrs of Pakistan movement and the children of Army Public School Peshawar and prayers were offered for the martyrs.
On this occasion, cake cutting ceremony and distribution of gifts to the patients by the Patients Welfare Society was also held. Similarly, national flag hoisting ceremony was held in Lady Aitchison hospital. MS Dr. Samina Naseer also distributed clothes among the staff.
Another flag hoisting ceremony in connection with the Independence Day held in Punjab Institute of Cardiology. Chief Executive Prof. Nadeem Hayat Malik, MS Dr. Dildar Ahmad Khan and a large number of doctors, nurses and the staff participated in the function with high spirit. National flag was hoisted and sweets were distributed among the staff. Special prayers were offered for the progress, prosperity and peace of the country.
Another function in connection with Independence Day was organized at Govt. Shahdara Teaching Hospital in which Dr. Imtiaz Pervaiz and a large number of doctors and paramedics participated. The national flag was hoisted at the hospital building and prayers were offered for the martyrs of Pakistan movement and the martyrs of Zarb-e-Azab who have sacrificed their lives to defend the motherland.
