Shahbaz Sharif orders for foolproof security on Independence Day

Lahore : Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has issued instructions to the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order to ensure foolproof security arrangements on Independence Day. He directed that special attention should be paid to security of Independence Day functions as well as sensitive places.

The Chief Minister said that police and law enforcement agencies should remain fully alert and perform their duties regarding protection of life and property of citizens with efficiency. He said that security plan evolved for Independence Day should be fully implemented. He directed that Independence Day rallies should be monitored through CCTV cameras and police authorities should remain in the field to review security arrangements. He said that a watchful eye should be kept on miscreants and law enforcement agencies should maintain a close coordination.

Shahbaz Sharif said that special arrangements should be made for smooth flow of traffic in Murree and around historical and recreational places. He directed that all possible steps should be taken for protection of life and property of people and maximum resources should be utilized for this purpose. He said that traffic police should evolve a special traffic plan for ensuring smooth flow of traffic in all cities and senior police officers should monitor security and traffic arrangements.
