Protest politics is to stop economic development : Shahbaz Sharif

Lahore : Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that government has put the country on the road to progress and prosperity during three years, due to best economic policies , national economy has considerably improved, foreign exchange reserves are at a record level and international institutions have acknowledged strong economic situation in Pakistan.

Shehbaz Sharif said that new records of public service will be set during next two years.

Talking to a delegation of PML-N, the Chief Minister said that thousands of megawatt electricity will be generated with the completion of energy projects. He said that with the production of electricity within next two years, loadshedding will be eliminated to a large extent which will result in development of industry and agriculture and creation of new job opportunities in the country.

He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, when the country is moving towards progress and prosperity, once again those staging sit-in and indulging in protest politics are out to stop this journey. Those indulging in sit-ins and protest politics have no concern with the development of the country and prosperity of the people, he added.

Shahbaz Sharif said that people who rejected the negative politics of protesters will reject it in future as well. He said that efforts aimed at creating hurdles in development projects through protests tantamount to open enmity with the people of Pakistan. He said that conscious people of Pakistan will never allow negative designs of such political elements to succeed.

The Chief Minister said that under China Pakistan Economic Corridor, China is making historic investment of 36 billion dollars in energy projects and round the clock work is being carried out on energy projects throughout Pakistan including Punjab. He said that completion of development projects by Punjab government with transparency, speed and quality is being appreciated in China and use of the term Punjab Speed instead of Shenzhen Speed by Chinese leadership is an honour for him as well as 20 crore people of Pakistan. He said that we will continue completion of development projects by maintaining the same speed and quality in future as well and come up to the expectations of the people.

Shahbaz Sharif said that there is no room for protests or negative politics in Pakistan. He said that it is time for unity and consensus. He said that those creating hurdles in the way of development for the sake of their personal interests should mend their ways. He said that the process of welfare and prosperity of people is continuing speedily under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif as progress of Pakistan and prosperity of the masses is the priority of the present leadership.
