Chief Child Protection UNICEF Ms. Sara Colman visits Directorate General Social Welfare Punjab

Lahore : Chief Child Protection UNICEF Ms. Sara Colman visited Directorate General Social Welfare & Bait ul Mal Punjab, today. She was received by Director General Social Welfare Waheed Akhtar Ansari, Director Programmes Zaib-un-Nisa and Director Planning Salman Ahmed.

DG Social Welfare gave a briefing to Ms. Sara Colman on security of children staying at social welfare institutions and the facilities being provided. Director Planning apprised about the pace of projects being implemented with the partnership of UNICEF.

Sara Colman thanked Punjab government and Social Welfare Department for extending full cooperation and expressed here satisfaction over the performance of the department.

She also assured cooperation of UNICEF in future projects. Regarding security of children. DG Social Welfare said that children are future of the nation and their protection is the responsibility of the state. He said that no laxity will be shown in this regard. DG Social Welfare also presented a painting to the Chief of Child Protection UNICEF.

Earlier, DG Social Welfare visited Social Welfare Complex in Township and reviewed preparations of special children for Independence Day. He also inspected sanitary conditions and kitchen of the complex and issued instructions to the staff regarding the food, clothing and other requirements of the inmates. He also talked to the children and the elderly persons staying at the complex and inquired about their problems. Waheed Akhtar Ansari gave instructions to the management regarding security of the children.
