Lahore : Lahore is not the city of Lahorites only but a large number of people of other areas have settled here permanently due to which its population has greatly increased. In such a situation, allocation of higher budget for the provincial metropolis compared to other districts is not unjustified. The ongoing development projects in Lahore will result in economic development of the whole province.
These views were expressed by Provincial Minister for Finance Ayesha Ghaus Pasha while addressing a review meeting. She said that reforms in education, health and law and order sectors introduced in the budget will raise the living standard of the people of the entire province. She said that timely completion of energy, infrastructure and potable water projects has become the need of every citizen. She said that energy crisis have badly affected routine life while water pollution is resulting in spread of diseases.
Ayesha Ghaus Pasha further said that modern transport facilities is the right of every citizen and in view of this fact timely completion of ongoing projects of infrastructure has been given priority in the budget. The Minister informed the meeting that the process of consultations with the Chamber of Commerce will prove helpful in enhancing local production and accelerating business which will improve economy.
