Lahore : Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif took personal notice of the medical condition of a Pakistani student and a juvenile diabetic, Anis, currently stranded in Indonesia.
The Prime Minister has directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to bear all the outstanding as well as future expenses going to be incurred on his treatment, including expenses on arrangements for the stay and transportation of his family till his recovery in Jakarta.
On the direction of the Prime Minister, the Embassy of Pakistan in Jakarta has been directed to extend full assistance to Anis, who has been stranded in Jakarta and being treated there due to multi-organ failure as a consequence of diabetes.
The Embassy has also been directed to take care of Anis’ family including accommodation.
Embassy of Pakistan had previously been taking care of the medical treatment of the student who had been admitted to a private hospital in Jakarta due to his deteriorating health.
However, the cost of the treatment came out to be significantly high and the embassy was finding it difficult to meet the expenses on his medical treatment due to paucity of funds.
Besides, the family also came to attend him and arrangements were required to be made for their accommodation as well as logistics.
