Neelum Jhelum would start production next year: Project Director Nayyar Allauddin

Lahore : Project Director Nayyar Allauddin has said that Neelum Jhelum Hydro Project would start functioning in next year and would generate 969 Megawatt electricity annually at the rate of Rs 5 to 6 per unit.He said ten thousand people including 1350 Chines are working for the timely completion of the project.

Neelum Jhelum would produce 5.150 Billions Unit per annum and Rs 55 Billions would be collected as a revenue,he added.

The project director said that it would help to save foreign exchange as 25lakh ton saved through Neelum Jhelum project.He said that Neelum Jhelum was the only shock proof underground project of the country that could easily bear the jolts of the earthquake. He maintained that Pakistan has the capacity to generate 60 thousands Megawatt electricity through its water resources.
