This is said by Shaukat Hayat Inspector General National Highways & Motorway Police, while addressing to police officers in Police Darbar at Zonal Office, Lahore. DIG Mirza Faran Baig and SSP Masroor Alam Kolachi were also present on the occasion.
The IG Shaukat Hayat said that NH&MP is service oriented force and provision of prompt help to the distressed road users is the hallmark of the department. The well-mannered conduct with commuters, courtesy and indiscriminate enforcement of law must be ensured to enhance the image of NH&MP.
The Inspector General also ordered to ensure equal application of law irrespective of one’s status. He laid stress on quick and timely response to Helpline 130 Call. It is the prime responsibility of NH&MP in providing safe and secure travelling to the road users, he added. He said that he would himself visit motorways and highways to ensure implementation of law in true spirit to provide safe and secure roads to the people of Pakistan.
In this darbar the families of Shuhada (Martyrs) were also invited and IG appreciated the contribution of Shuhadas for NH&MP and ensured the families that their contributions will never be neglected. Inspector General Police also announced that special educational and welfare package will be introduced for the disabled children of employees as well as children of Shuhada. At the end, Inspector General distributed certificates amongst the officers who showed extraordinary performance their duty. The NH&MP I.G also listened to the problems faced by the officers and issued necessary instructions to redress their grievances.
