Lahore : Prominent intellectual and Parliamentarian Syed Tabish Alweri has paid rich tribute to the district administration Bahawalpur for initiating effective measures for introducing Urdu as official language for conducting officials business in district Bahawalpur. He made these remarks while delivering presidential address at monthly meeting of Shahab Dehlvi Academy.
Mr. Alweri said that the official language of the former Bahawalpur state was Urdu. He also paid tribute to the outstanding services of Shahab Dehlvi academy for promoting Urdu language. He said that the late Shahab dehlvi was a towering intellectual personality.
Prominent parliamentarian Makhdoom Ahmad Alam Anwer; Director Public Relations Sahiwal Riaz ul Haq Bhatti; Professor Mashhood Rizvi also spoke on the occasion. Later, a Mehfil-e- Mushaera was also held. The prominent poets recited their poems and ghazals which enthrall the audience. The poets who were participated in Mushaera were:- Syed Ahmad Ali Shah Makhmoor; Professor Talib Hussain Talib; Zahid Ali Khan and Afzaal ur Rehman Hashmi.
