Fauzia Waqar condemns honour killing of Qandeel Baloch

Lahore : Chairperson Provincial Commission on Women Fauzia Waqar has strongly condemned honor killings.

In a statement Fauzia Waqar deplored the murder of actress and model Qandeel Baloch and said that killing of women in the name of honor is not permitted by law or Shariah. She said that there is a need to check gender discrimination against women. She said that the purpose of setting up Women Commission is protection of women.

Fauzia Waqar also condemned the statement of Mufti Abdul Qavi against Qandeel Baloch in the wake of her death and said that all citizens are equal under the law and no one can be allowed to take law in his own hands.
