Standing Committee on Cabinet wants speedy investigation of drugs case

Rana Muhammad Hayat Khan, MNAIslamabad :  The Standing Committee on Cabinet expressed strong displeasure over the slow process of investigation as Custom & ANF authorities were unable to fix responsibility on the recovery of 28 kg and 3 kg Heroin from two different PIA flights despite laps of considerable period of time.

The Committee directed that Chairman, FBR may constitute a joint investigation Committee comprising representatives of PIA, ANF and ASF headed by Custom department to expedite the investigation process so that culprits could be penalized accordingly.

The Committee directed that joint investigation Committee may finalize its report within 60 days of the meeting and report back to the Committee.

Meeting of the Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat held in Parliament House, Islamabad this Morning with Rana Muhammad Hayat Khan, MNA in the chair.

The meeting was attended by Sardar Muhammad Irfan Dogar, MNA Sardar Mansib Ali Dogar, MNA Ms. Parveen Masood Bhatti, MNA Ms. Shehnaz Saleem, MNA Ms.Nighat Parveen Mir, MNA Malik Ibrar Ahmed, MNA Ms. Nafeesa Inayatullah Khan Khattak, MNA Moulvi Agha Muhammad, MNA Syed Javaid Ali Shah, MNA Dr. Mehreen Razzaq Bhutto, MNA Syed Ali Raza Abidi, MNA and senior officers of the concerned Ministries/departments.
