Abdul Sattar Edhi should be awarded with “Nishan-e-Insaniyat” : Ch Shujat Hussain

Lahore : Pakistan Muslim League  President and former Prime Minister Ch Shujat Hussain while paying glowing tributes to Abdul Sattar Edhi for his services to humanity has said that his services are higher than the Nobel Prize which is given to many people, like the greatest national award for courage and bravery “Nishan-e-Haider” the greatest national award for service to humanity “Nishan-e-Insaniyat” should be announced.

He said that the Maulana was always ready everywhere and every time for serving the suffering humanity.

Ch Shujat Hussain told that he had held several meetings with him but the most memorable of these took place when in 2007 on last night prior to the operation he was engaged in negotiations for peaceful solution of Lal Masjid issue then the Maulana had reached there on his own without being called or asking at the nullah outside the Masjid along with his wife on wheel chair.

Ch Shujat Hussain said “When I reached there on getting the information, he (the Maulana) said Chaudhry Sahib you are busy in serving humanity, I’m sitting outside I may also get the opportunity for service”.

Ch Shujat Hussain further told that he took him with due respect and reverence and got him seated in a room where he remained for three hours but when things worsened he was duly emphatically asked to leave as the situation is not right.

Ch Shujat Hussain said that when Ch Pervaiz Elahi as Chief Minister Punjab was busy in establishing Rescue Service 1122 he had consulted the Maulana a number of times.
