Shahbaz Sharif inaugurates Punjab Institute of Quran and Seerat Studies

Lahore : Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated Punjab Institute of Quran and Seerat Studies, here today and prayed.

Provincial Minister for Auqaf Mian Ata Manika, Vice Chairman second Punjab Institute of Quran and Seerat Studies Justice ® Khalil-ur-Rehman, Chairman Punjab Quran Board Ghulam Muhammad Sialvi, Molana Amjad Khan, Dr. Raghib Naeemi, Allama Zubair Zaheer, Molana Muhammad Hussain Akbar, Maulana Tahir Ashrafi, Khateeb Badshahi Mosque Dr. Abdul Khabeer, Ulema from all school of thoughts, Chief Secretary, Secretary Auqaf and senior officials were present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister congratulated the nation on inauguration of this institution during the holy month of Ramadan and said that the aim of setting up of Institute of Quran and Seerat Studies is to conduct research on Seerat un Nabi (PBUH). He said this intuition has been set up for a great cause and expressed the hope that this will become a great institution in the Islamic world.

Shahbaz Sharif said that Ulema and Mashaikh will carry out research and write papers. This institution will have link with prestigious institutions of Islamic world, he added. He said that Institute of Quran and Seerat Studies will be unprecedented and will create name in the entire world.

The Chief Minister said Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) proved through his act that Islam is the religion of peace and love. What is the reason that Muslim of today is facing hatred and distances and away from accommodation and forbearance, he questioned? We will have to find answer to this question, he added.

Shahbaz Sharif said that majority of Ulema is harmonized with modern-age demands. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) enforced condition of education of children for releasing the prisoners of non-Muslims, he added.

Shahbaz Sharif said that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stressed upon the need of education at that time but we do not even think about it today. He said that population of Muslims is 1.5 billion but they have only won two Nobel prizes. He said that Muslims have forgotten the universal message of the Holy Quran. Teachings of the Holy Quran and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) provide every kind of guidance, he added.

The Chief Minister said that we should implement Seerat un Nabi (PBUH). He said that specific mind set will have to be changed for moving Pakistan forward. Ulema of all schools of thoughts had gathered under the dynamic leadership of Quid-e-Azam at Minar-e-Pakistan on March 23, 1940 with the one aim to achieve a separate country where system of Allah Almighty will prevail and society based on justice be constituted.

He said that 14 August is again coming and the Ulema who were united at a time are opposing each other today. He said the objective of creation of Pakistan was that the Muslims should be united. He said that even today, the true Ulema talk of unity, accommodation and tolerance. He said time has come we should honestly analyze that why our condition is pitiable.

The Chief Minister said that Pakistan was created to lead the Islamic world but we have become slaves and this is due to forgetting the teachings of Quran and the Holy Prophet. He said that if we adopt teachings of Quran and Muhammad (PBUH), then Pakistan will become a great country. He said that education, love, unity, hope, tolerance and accommodation will be promoted at Punjab Institute of Quran and Seerat Studies and this institution will become a great institute with regard to science, research and uniqueness.

He said teachings of Quran and science are associated with each other and regretted that we are still discussing basic matters. He said that establishment of this institution will result in promoting the message of unity. He said that Ulema of all schools of thoughts have been included in this institution due to which love will be promoted throughout the world.

He said that Ulema should move shoulder to shoulder him for making this situation a great research organization. He said that there is no dearth of resources and this will be made a successful institution. Provincial Minister for Auqaf Ata Manika and Justice ® Khalil ur Rahman also spoke on the occasion.
