Lahore : The cooling tower-I at Sahiwal Coal Fired Power Plant Complex has been completed . The company said that the project has been completed 123 days before schedule. upon completion, the length of cooling tower reached 172 meters.
The construction work on this cooling tower was started on January 29 and in the first phase, 14 meter deep excavation was done for its foundation. As many as 88 columns were constructed for strengthening of the base before the construction of its cylinder.
A programme was held on successful completion of cooling tower and at the end of the programme, fireworks were also exhibited. After construction of cooling tower, a new standard was set for its quality and speed. Construction of cooling tower is one of the biggest and most complicated work in the establishment of power plant. In the wake of civil work, the company working on the project had assured its standard during cooling tower construction.
After five months hard work and dedication, this is a new benchmark for cooling tower company. During the construction, the company faced a number of challenges and difficulties which include its increasing height, severe heat and seasonal conditions but due to firm determination, this project was completed successfully with the cooperation of Punjab government and district government Sahiwal.
The Company dedicates this success to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, his team especially Nadeem Chaudhry and district government Sahiwal.
During construction, the company also faced problems in the supply of machinery and material but with the help of Nadeem, all difficulties were overcome and work was continued without any hurdle. Cooling tower-I was completed in a record period which also points high standard of construction.
The Company Huaneng Shandong Ruyi (Pakistan) Energy (Private Limited) appreciated the support of Punjab government. The Company says that good results can be achieved through joint work.
