Ministry of Information to hold inquiry into financial affairs during Maalick ’s tenure

Lahore : Standing Committee on Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage has directed the Ministry of Information to complete inquiry into administrative and financial affairs during former MD’s tenure within two months. The Committee met under the chairmanship of Pir Muhammad Aslam Bodla, MNA in Parliament House, this afternoon.

The Committee directed the Secretary M/o Information to submit findings of the Inquiry Committee within stipulated period. The Committee also directed to inquire into the purchase of equipment in PTV during tenure of former MD.

The Secretary M/o Information assured the committee that the inquiry would be completed within the stipulated timeline. He further informed that remedial measures have been initiated in the PTV whereby contract of staff employed by former Management on hefty packages were terminated thus saving the State TV of further losses. He informed the Committee that PTV in-house drama production has been revived and from the next quarter PTV would telecast 60% of the indigenously produced dramas. The Committee appreciated the efforts of the Secretary.

The meeting was attended by MNAs, Malik Shakir Bashir Awan, Mr. Muhammad Tallal Chaudry, Mr. Tahir Iqbal Ch., Ms. Ghulam Bibi Bharwana, Ms. Parveen Masood Bhatti, Ms. Arifa Khalid Parvez, Ms. Belum Hasnain, Mr. Murad Saeed, Malik Muhammad Aamir Dogar, Ms. Naeema Kishwer Khan, Secretary M/o Information Broadcasting and National Heritage, and other senior officers of the concerned departments..
