Lahore’s journalists pay homage to late Amjad Sabri Qawal

Lahore : The journalists community has paid a great tribute to late Amjad Sabri Qawal in a condolence reference jointly organized by The Journalist Group and Punjab Institute of Language,Art and Culture.A large number of journalists, artist and people from all walks of life participated the ceremony including president Journalist Group Arshad Ansari,Javaid Farooqi,Iqbal Ch,Naeem Hanif,Mushfiq Rathore,Qamar Bhatti,Kh Naseer,Imran Khan,Syed Noor,Shokat Ali,Khalid Abbas Dar,Rafaqat Ali, Nadeem Salamat,Khalid Butt,Jawad Ahmad,Pervaiz Kaleem,Humera Arshad,Sami Ibrahim,Film star Noor, Olympian Khawaja Junaid,Anwar Rafi,Tariq Tafu,Sheeba Butt and many others .

The ceremony was started with the recite of Holy Quran and later Marghoob Hamdani presented the gift of Naat.Rafaqat Ali Khan paid tribute to Amjad Sabri by singing “Tajdar-e-Haram”.

Addressing the ceremony,Arshad Ansari said journalist community stood by the artists and demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits who martyred Amjad Sabri.

Director PILAC Sughra Sadaf said that the killing in Ramzan was an attempt to silence the voice of love ,affection, art and culture but Amjad Sabri will remain alive in our hearts forever.

In the end,famous folk singer Shokat Ali led a special pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul of Amjad Sabri.
