Pakistani Hockey Stars Rizwan and Rashid Help Oranje Zwart to Win the Dutch League

Lahore: The Dutch hockey league is easily the most professionally organized in the world, and also the most followed.

This year, Oranje Zwart, the Eindhoven club won the league. Two stars of Pakistan’s current national team Rizwan Senior and Mohammad Rashid were members of this victorious team.

Interestingly, city’s soccer club Eindhoven FC also lifted the title.

The city of Eindhoven celebrated the double success.

The players of both the hockey and soccer teams were taken to the city centre.  Thirty thousand fans had gathered there. First the hockey players ascended and came to the balcony to the thunderous cheers of the crowd. Then the players stepped forward one by one and waved to their jubilant supporters. One hour later soccer team also joined them.

The celebrations continued for more than four hours.

Rizwan Senior said, “It was like a dream. The Dutch really love hockey”.
