Lahore: Director General Wildlife and Parks Punjab Khalid Ayaz Khan has said that first phase of “Animal Exchange Program” of surplus animals has been started under which a pair of lions has been sent to Islamabad Zoo and in return two Zebras and three Barking Deer have been received and sent to Safari Zoo Lahore.
He told this while talking to reporters of news channels, in his office, here today. Khalid Ayaz Khan said that under “Animal Exchange Program” to meet the shortage of animals and complete the pairs of animals in wildlife parks of Lahore, other provinces of the country besides China, Singapore, South Africa and India are being contacted. He said that work is in progress to meet the shortage as well as complete the pairs by exchanging the animals and birds with other countries.
