Lahore: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that the political leadership was pushing the country towards anarchy by delaying the process of accountability.
Speaking at an Iftar party here, he said that if an autonomous judicial commission for indiscriminate accountability of the corrupt was not constituted soon, there would be people’s commissions on roads and crossings for the recovery of the plundered wealth from the corrupt.
Referring to the World Child Labour Day, Liaqat Baloch said that elimination of child labour was the responsibility of the state. He said that the federation and the provincial governments should not be content with observing Days and framing new laws, but should take practical steps to solve the problems of the masses in the fields of education, health and employment. He said it was the responsibility of the state to know the factors which forced the parents to ruin the future of their children by deputing them to do odd jobs only to supplement family income, and try to remove these factors.
