Lahore: Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Dr. Umar Saif said that PITB has established Centralized Command & Control Room for monitoring of 316 Ramazan Bazars across Punjab. He was addressing a meeting in his office at Arfa Software Technology Park on Friday.
He said “On the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif electronic rate boards/LCDs have also been installed at each bazar that display prices of essential items while the control room constantly monitors the markets.
For effective monitoring, sufficient number of CCTV cameras has been installed at each Ramzan Bazar and connected with the central monitoring room set at the Punjab Civil Secretariat through video conferencing and internet. The trained staffs of PITB are deputed to the central monitoring room that is minutely monitoring the security arrangement, supply of commodities particularly subsidized items i.e. Sugar and Flour and other facilities provided by the respective district government.”
Dr. Saif said that any flaw noted by the monitoring staff, is immediately reported to the respective department or district administration who takes action accordingly. “The monitoring of Ramzan Bazars was initiated from 3rd June and it will continue up to the further orders. The electronic monitoring is being made since 8:00 am to 05:00 pm daily” He added.
