Lahore: Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Dr. Umar Saif has that PITB has developed Centralized Bio-Metric Attendance System for Agriculture Department of Punjab that would ensure transparency and enhance work performance of the staff. He said it during a training workshop held at the Arfa Software Technology Park on Wednesday.
The training was conducted by the PITB resource persons to acquaint the staff of the Agriculture department with the newly built system. Dr Saif said “PITB is dedicated towards supporting the all government businesses with ICT initiatives for better performance and outcome.
Earlier, Agri-smart application was introduced in Punjab Agriculture department that aimed at providing adequate information to the farmers regarding cultivation techniques, use of pesticides and fertilizers, harvesting and marketing of the productions through helpline, SMS alert service and websites. The officers of the Agriculture department are showing satisfaction on the performance of smart technology and admitted that the performance and attendance ratio was increased due to these ICT interventions.”
Dr. Saif said that the training would facilitate the department to run new technologies successfully for optimum results. He told that the biometric attendance system has also been introduced in government hospitals and police stations across the province.
