Siraj ul Haq warns of Jamaat-e-Islami long march towards Islamabad

Siraj ul HaqLahore: Embarking on the second phase of Jamaat e Islami’s Corruption Free Pakistan movement from Chitral on Sunday, Ameer, JI, Pakistan Senator Sirajul Haq, warned that if the government did not give due importance to the issue, he would make the poor people residing in huts and villages to march towards Islamabad.

He was addressing a big public meeting at Polo ground, Chitral after a successful Train  March spread over three days. He said that if the government did not take notice of the drive against corruption and did not implement agreed ToR’s for the Judicial Commission, he would bring the people on roads.

Sirajul Haq said that he had come to the youth of Turch Mir to begin his movement with a new vigour and determination.

The JI chief said that Zardari’s policies were the continuation of the policies of Pervez Musharraf while the PML(N) was continuing Zardari’s policies.   He said those ruling the country for the last 68 years were not loyal to the country and its people. Instead, they were loyal to the US and their each and every decision and plan aimed at pleasing Washington. “These people  even hate the Pakistani people and culture and they do not have the skill and talent to run the country either.  They love their pet dogs more than the poor countrymen”, he added.

Sirajul Haq said that the Panama leaks had proved to be only a small thing as there was a Panama under the carpets of every elite residence.  He said that only the elite were involved in corruption. “The PML(N) people feel offended when I name the Prime Minister but they should tell me  whom should I name”, he asked.

He said that corruption to the tune of Rs. 12 billion was taking place in the country every day and the annual amount came to around Rs. 4380 billion. He said that it was only due to corruption that the country had to borrow from the IMF and World Bank.

The JI chief said, he wanted to see the plunderers handcuffed and behind bars but added that the people ,especially the youth, would have to join his move.

He said that if the corruption was controlled, all loans of the country Could be cleared,  the development budget could be doubled and  every citizen could be provided basic facilities of education health.

Sirajul Haq noted that the Livari tunnel project which had been started about eleven years ago had not been completed so far.

A big crowd welcomed the JI chief at Chitral. JI Khyber P chief Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, MNA Sahibzada Tariqullah, district Nazim Chitral Haji Maghferat Shah, ex- MNA Maulana Abdul Akbr Chitrali, and Maulana Jamshed Ahmed also addressed the meeting.
