PEMRA rules and regulations would be made more effective

Lahore : Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage (IB&NH) Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Wednesday chaired a meeting to review laws pertaining to the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA).

The meeting was attended by chairman Absar Alam and senior officials of the ministries of  IB & NH and Law. A committee was constituted which would present its report after examining the PEMRA laws.

The meeting decided that in light of remarks of Chief Justice of Pakistan, PEMRA rules and regulations would be made more effective. Moreover, it was decided that PEMRA laws would be amended and new legislation would be done in that regard.
