Punjab Education Department announces summer vacation from May 24

Lahore: Punjab Education Department has announced summer vacation from May 24 in educational institutions in the province. Summer vacation will start from 24 May and continue up to 14 August.

Earlier, Education Department had fixed June 1^st for summer vacations. However, keeping in view the hotness, and difficulties of children and their parents, Education Department has decided to start summer vacations from May 24.

Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan expressed these views while addressing a press conference at the committee room of Schools Education Department, today.

Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said that there is no chance of reduction in heat and rain before June 15 according to the latest report of Meteorological Department. Meanwhile, reports regarding children’s unconscious in schools were received.

The Education Department has decided to start these holidays in all public and private schools from May 24. The Minister said that where examinations are being conducted, they will complete their exam by submitting date sheet to their concerned EDO Education. He said that Monday has been fixed to give homework to the children and vacations will start on Tuesday.

The Minister said that the summer vacations have been announced with the consultation of representatives of private schools organizations. He said that it is very hot this year and we do not want to take any risk of children. He said that  school hours were also reduced due to hot weather but it has been decided to start summer vacation before the fixed date due to temperature.
