People are suffering due to apathy of MPs : Malik Salahuddin

Mandi Bahauddin (Sher Gondal) : A protest rally was held on Saturday here in front of press club against withdrawing notification under which Government Engineering and Technology University Rasul was downgraded to College of Technology. Traders, members of civil society, students and teachers participated in the rally.

The protestors put tires on fire and blocked the road. They were carrying placards inscribed with : Withdraw the notification and restore the university” .

Addressing the rally Malik Salahuddin said Mandi people were suffering due to apathy of MPs of this district. About their performance he said they did not fulfill promises made during elections. DHQ Hospital project had been lying incomplete for the last ten years. There is no Campus of Punjab University in this district and the students for higher education have to study in other districts where boarding expenditure charged from them was beyond their financial sources. He said MPs despite peoples repeated requests never paid any heed to health and education issues. He said people of Mandi Bahauddin would continue movement for restoration of Engineering and Technology University till acceptance of their demand.
