Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the country cannot afford chaos or negative politics. He said that some elements are out to stop the process of development of the country only for their personal interests. He said that 18 crore people will not allow anyone to create hurdles in the journey of progress.
Shahbaz Sharif said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, journey of hope, peace, progress and prosperity has started and it will be completed successfully with the cooperation of the masses. He said that politics is the name of selfless service to the people. He said that every step of Pakistan Muslim League-N government is directed towards progress of the country and prosperity of the people.
He expressed these views while talking to Members Assembly who called on him, here today.
The Chief Minister said that Pakistan of today is economically strong as compared to the past and Pakistan of 2018 will be more peaceful, safe, developed and prosperous. He said that Pakistan will move ahead only through indiscriminate accountability. He said that Pakistan is standing on an important juncture of history and this is not the time for politics of personal interests.
The Chief Minster said that those getting loans worth billions of rupees waived off and looting national wealth will have to be brought to justice. He said that indiscriminate accountability of all is voice of the entire nation. He said that it is strange that those having offshore companies are raising hue and cry over this issue. He said that politically conscious people of Pakistan cannot be hoodwinked by such elements.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the result of recent by-election in Peshawar is a lesson for those indulging in negative politics. He said that people want progress and prosperity of the country and now there is no room for negative politics.
Those who called on Chief Minister include Members Punjab Assembly Zulfiqar Ali Khan, Muhammad Saqib Khursheed, Ch. Akhtar Ali Khan, Rashida Yaqoob and Ch. Muhammad Iqbal while MPA Manshaulla Butt was also present on this occasion.
