Bahawalpur : District Coordination officer Doctor Ehtisham Anwar Mahaar has stated that the district administration would establish as many as 12 Ramzan Bazaars ensure quality edibles to the consumers given products at lower prices during the Holy month of Ramzan in all the six Tesils. The Ramzan Bazaars would start functioning from June 1st in all Tehsils of District. DCO Doctor Ehtisham Anwar Mahaar while presiding over a high level meeting to finalize the managements to establish Ramzan Bazzars at his committee room here today.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Collector Imrana Ajmal, District Officer Coordination Ch. Amjad Bashir, all Assistant Commissioners and other relevant officers.
According to details relevant officer briefed the meeting about various steps which would be taken to evolve the comprehensive and effective mechanism to ensure special quality of food stuff, vegetables, fruits and other essential items to the consumers at lower prices to provide economic relief to the consumers during the Holy month of Ramzan.
He directed the relevant officers all stack holders and traders have assured their fullnest cooperation for extending economic relief to the consumers at these Ramzan Bazzars.
The meeting was informed that the Assistant Commissioner in the district would be given responsibility to supervise the Ramzan Bazzars in their respective Tehsils. The executive district officer Tanvir Ahmed agriculture briefed the meeting that agriculture department would establish fare price shops to provide vegetable and fruits at affordable and cheaper rates to the Public at the Ramzan Bazaars.
While addressing the meeting DCO under lined the meat and chicken to mobilize all energies for the smooth effective running of Ramzan bazaars in the district out of 12 Ramzan Bazaars in six tehslis, Ahmed Pur East, Hasil Pur, Yazman, Bahawalpur Saddar and Khairpur Tamewali. DCO noted that the 12 Ramzan Bazaars would be established in six Tehsils of the District which includes three each in Bahawalpur City and Ahmed Pur East, Two each in Hasil Pur and Yazman, while one each in Bahawalpur Saddar and Khairpur Tamewali Tehsils.
DCO directed the Assistant Commissioners and law enforcement agencies to ensure fool proof security cover at the Ramzan Bazaars by operationalising CCTV cameras and deploying sufficient number of the Civil Defence at exit and entry points and other sensitive areas at the Ramzan Bazaars. He also directed to establish separate portion for senior citizens and women consumers to provide them congenial environment at these Ramzan Bazaars. DCO said that the arrangements had been made to provide 20kg floor bag at Rs.580 instead of prevailing market price of Rs. 620 similarly Sugar would also be provided to the consumers at Rs.60 per kg while Baisan, pulses , Fruits, Vegetables and other essential items would also be provided at much lower prices in comparison to the prevails market price.
He directed all price control magistrates to ensure the price lists at the prominent places at all the stalls of the Ramzan Bazaars.
