Mandi Bahauddin (Sher Gondal) : A joint rally of ex-servicemen and lawyers was held Monday here in judicial complex against rising corruption. The participants were carrying banners with slogans “Zalmo luti hoi qomi dolat wapis Karo” and “corrupt anasar ka ehtisab karo”.
Some ex-servicemen were carrying banners with their demand of “one rank one pension” and setting up DASB at Mandi Bahauddin. Addressing the rally former District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Hussain Maken said corruption being a cancer is silent killer of the society. He said people were well aware of the fact that our rulers are corrupt and their wealth gathered through unfair means was in foreign banks. Now the Panama leaks have exposed corruption of our rulers and their wealth invested in off shore companies.
He said rulers have devised different techniques to exploit the poor and benefit their cronies. He said being elite class they have 33% women seats in parliament and senate. He demanded this special quota should be ended and women desiring to become Member of Parliament should contest election. He also demanded dissolving all parallel courts and forums like special courts, terrorist courts NAB, Anti Corruption establishment and FIA and ombudspersons of offices.
There should be general law and general courts for all end disparity. He lasso demanded there should be only 10 ministers and no special adviser. He also called for ending the Senate as it is just burden on the national exchequer. He said if this is done, corruption would be reduced and government expenditure would be minimized to great extent.
Another anti corruption movement leader retired head master high school Muhammad Ashraf said district level government departments’ performance was very poor and they have failed to deliver required service to the people. He demanded to these department should be activated to their full capacity and their performance should be transparent.
He said if revenue and police officials work with honesty litigation will come to an end and work load on courts would be reduced. He said only citizens alone can’t end corruption unless all stake holders held monthly meetings to find out ways to curb corruption with their collaborated efforts.
The participants of the rally also raised slogans “corruption Mukao, Mulk bachao”
