Mandi Bahauddin(Sher Gondal) : People in Mandi Bahauddin district express their serious concern over current political situation. Local welfare NGOs heads in a meeting observed that crises continue in our country one after the other which according to them is deliberately created by rulers to secure political mileage.
The meeting demanded that issue of Panama leaks should be decided in Parliament and not by any commission. Commissions and inquiries findings have never been acted upon in the past and mostly they got lost in archives, said Advocate Muniba Gondal while talking to media persons after attending the meeting.
She said the meeting through a resolution had demanded that there should be one law to deal with people. All special and terrorists courts should be dissolved and let the general courts decide the cases under the general law. More laws more corruption; less laws less corruption, she commented. Referring to rising corruption in the government departments, she said the meeting proposed that government should arrange seminars at district and tehsil levels and all stake holders should be invited to attend them for determining reasons for corruption and formulating strategy to remove them.
She further said this measure would serve as pro active approach to prevent the corruption and will go long way in strengthening government departments to perform their duties effectively and transparently. At present she said the government departments including judiciary work under pressure from different mafias because of which their efficiency and transparency is badly affected.
