Lahore: Member Provincial Assembly Uzma Bukhari has said that those who misbehaved with women in PTI public meeting will be taken to task and she will herself follow the case.
Addressing a press conference at DGPR, Uzma Bukhari said that women have proved their mettle in the politics of Pakistan. She said that women assembly members of Muslim League have played a commendable role from the creation of Pakistan to its progress. She said unfortunately, the incidents of misbehavior with women in public meetings of PTI have increased. She said that worst behavior of PTI workers with a prominent anchor of media has still not been forgotten.
Uzma Bukhari said that PTI leaders did not bother to condemn this indecent attitude to women. She said that Imran Khan is using women political workers as a showpiece. She said that Amnesty International, Germany and other countries have inquired on phone about these incidents. Is this change which PTI is promising, she questioned. She said that a political leader not only delivers speeches but also trains his workers but Imran Khan has failed in both. She said that justice will be ensured to the aggrieved.
Uzma Bukhari said that she salutes lady police officer for registering a case. She said that video footage is being sent for identification through NADRA record. She said that people were dying in public meeting of Multan but announcements were being made to remain silent as Imran Khan was delivering a speech. She said that the number of women participants in PTI public meetings is decreasing.
She said that Punjab government is standing with distressed women. She said that media should cooperate in upholding the rights of women. She said that there is no example of such misbehavior and uncivilized attitude with women in public meeting of any political party.
She said that the persons responsible will be traced and arrested. Those leveling allegations against Muslim League-N workers for misbehaving with women should be ashamed. She said that there is a letter of PTI leader Uzma Kardar that PTI workers misbehaved with women in PTI public meeting in Islamabad.
