Lahore: Provincial Finance Minister Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha has said that economic stability and provision of services to the common man is the top priority of Punjab government. She said that negative political attitudes weaken economy and should be discouraged in present situation.
She expressed these views while addressing MoU signing ceremony between Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry and British Business Center, here today.
Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha said that Pakistan is among the best trade markets of Asia. She said that 60 percent economy of the country depends upon Punjab and agriculture is the backbone of provincial economy. She said that Punjab is of special importance with regard to foreign investment. She said that setting up of trade center in Lahore by British government and assurance of complete cooperation to Lahore Chamber of Commerce is a milestone.
The Minister said that Chief Minister Punjab is bringing various changes for making the province a hub of business and special attention is being paid to the promotion of public-private partnership. British High Commissioner Thomas Drew said that the main reason for confidence in Punjab is cooperation of provincial government and easy access to markets. He also appreciated revolutionary measures of the provincial government for the promotion of energy sector.
Later, MoU was signed in the presence of Provincial Minister Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha and British High Commissioner Thomas Drew.
