Media Education is of great importance in this rapidly changing era: Dr Rauf-i-Azam

Incharge Director Dr. Noshina Saleem welcomed the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-AzamLahore: Vice Chancellor University of Education Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam has said that journalism is a sacred profession which not only describes daily occurring incidents and explores facts in well manner but also plays an important role in eradication of social evils. Training sessions of journalists and new comers on modern professional standards and media education is of great importance in this rapidly changing era.

He expressed these views during the visit to Institute of Communication Studies, Punjab University and radio station FM 104.6 here on Thursday. Incharge Director Dr. Noshina Saleem welcomed the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam and briefed about the remarkable performance, prominent facts and figures, academic and non-academic activities and other related affairs of department. Dr. Waqar Malik, Dr. Bushra Hameed, Dr. Lubna Zaheer, Assistant Prof. Shabir Sarwer, Amir Bajwa and other faculty members were also present at occasion.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam visited the different sections of department including News Studio, Audio Video Lab, Computer Lab, Library, Hameed Nazami Hall and admired the academic and administrative skills and efforts of Incharge Director Dr. Noshina Saleem loudly. While talking on this occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam said that by implementing the journalistic codes and ethics, a positive and true journalism could be made possible. An extensive and deep study is necessary for journalists and newly inducted students in this sacred profession. He further said that to highlight and sensitize publics regarding social issues in a manner full way is the basic concept of development journalism.

Afterwards Dr. Noshina Saleem and Shabir Sarwer held an interview of VC Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam at PU FM 104.6 which was highly appreciated by teachers, students and listeners.
