Motorways police launches an enforcement lane discipline campaign

Lahore: On the directions of DIG, N 5 Central Zone Mirza Faran Baig has adopted strict enforcement on lane discipline, helmet and seat belt. Motorcyclists in Pakistan are amongst the most careless in the world, and they pay minimal or no attention to their own safety.

A vast majority of riders do not wear safety helmets. Motorcyclists are at risk of fatal head injuries, and wearing safety helmets is a must for them. SSP/Sector Commander Masroor Alam Kalachi passed these remarks while chairing a meeting of officers Qader Abad Beat 15.

SSP/Sector Commander Masroor Alam Kalachi showed satisfaction on the lowering of accident ratio in the on highways but ordered to give more attention on patrolling and all operational matters.  The SSP examined operational affairs of each beat in detail and passed suitable directions.  He made it clear that fastening seat-belt while driving and wearing helmet while riding would be mandatory for all road users.He said that officers should stress on helping the road users in distress more instantly as facilitating others is one of the salient features of the department.
