PML-N delegation calls on Punjab Chief Minister

Hanif Abbasi,shahbaz sharifLahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan Muslim League-N government has always upheld national interests and selfless services to the people is its mission. He said that PML-N government is striving to resolve problems of the common man and work is being carried out expeditiously on development projects of billions of rupees in rural and urban areas.

 

He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Pakistan Muslim League-N, headed by former Member National Assembly Hanif Abbasi, which met him today.

He said that the purpose of development projects and welfare programmes of the government is to raise living standard of the citizens and provide maximum relief to masses. He said that PML-N leadership considers politics as a form of worship but some self-motivated elements are trying to create hurdles in the process of progress and prosperity of the common man.

However, he said, 18 crore people of the country will not allow anyone to hinder the journey of development and prosperity. Shehbaz Sharif said that people had rejected such elements as are opposing projects of public welfare and progress of the country in general elections and in local bodies’ elections as well.

The Chief Minister said that PML-N government is striving to resolve problems of the common man and the purpose of development projects and welfare programmes is to raise living style of citizens and provide maximum relief to the masses. He said that development activities are being carried out in urban areas along with rural areas and effective steps are being taken for resolving such public problems as are pointed out by public representatives.

He said that modern transport facilities are being provided to rural populous through carpeted farm-to-market roads under Khadim-e-Punjab Rural Roads programme. He said that rural economy will flourish with the completion of this big project of Rs. 150 billion and the lifestyle of rural population will be transformed.

The Chief Minister said that Lahore Orange Line Metro Train is a unique and unprecedented project in the history of the country. He said that metro train is a public welfare project, which will result in provision of international standard travelling facilities to millions of citizens. He said that undue criticism on public welfare projects tantamount to opposition to provision of facilities to the masses.

He said that those unduly opposing public welfare projects are enemies of progress and prosperity of the people. He said that elites have no interest in the welfare and betterment of the masses and the elements creating hurdles in public welfare projects cannot tolerate removal of deprivation of the poor people. He said that those who were criticizing metro bus service became silent after the glorious success of this project and the same will happen in the case of orange line metro train.

He said that the opponents of public welfare programme do not want progress of the country or prosperity of the masses. He said that a handful of these people will continue to oppose progress of the common citizens while the government will continue its mission of public service and new records of service to the people will be set under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The Chief Minister further said that Pakistan metro bus service and Lahore metro bus service are providing safe, comfortable and modern transport facilities to lakhs of people and these projects have resolved transport problems of the common citizens.

Hanif Abbasi informed the Chief Minister about metro bus as well as other projects in education, health, horticulture and sports sectors in Rawalpindi. He also apprised the Chief Minister of the project of the public park over a vast area of land adjacent to Institute of Urology Benazir Bhutto Hospital, Rawalpindi and other recreational facilities, new cricket grounds for the youth and other completed as well as ongoing projects.

He thanked Chief Minister Punjab for providing huge funds for the people of Rawalpindi. While apprising about mega project of Institute of Urology, Hanif Abbasi told that this project will provide modern treatment facilities to the people of kidney and bladder diseases to the people not only of Rawalpindi and Islamabad but also of Azad Kashmir and other areas.
