Shahbaz Sharif lauds police sacrifices in an operation against Chotto Gang

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that sacrifices of police officials martyred in the operation against dacoits and criminal elements in Kucha area of Rajanpur will not go to waste and the courage and bravery displayed by the police force in the operation is highly commendable. He said that criminal elements will be rooted out from the area.

Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that police officials have displayed exemplary courage and valor by laying down their lives in the performance of their duty and proved that police is fully alert to safeguard the life and property of the citizens. He said that morale of police force is very high and it will continue to display the same spirit for eliminating criminal elements and making Punjab a haven of peace.

The Chief Minister, under Shuhada Package, announced financial assistance of Rs.50 lakh for the heirs of each police constable martyred in the operation, Rs.25 lakh for purchase of house, job for one member of the family, free medical and educational facilities and full salary to the heirs till completion of service of the martyred officials.

He said that though the martyred police officials cannot be brought back yet the responsibility of look after of their families will be fully discharged. He announced provision of Rs.25 lakh under Police Shuhada Package for the family of each police official for purchase of house and said that this initiate will be included on permanent basis in the Police Shuhada Package.

The Chief Minister also ordered safe recovery of police officials kidnapped from Kucha area and said that police should launch a vigorous operation with the help of other law enforcement agencies for eliminating criminal elements. He directed that best treatment facilities be provided to the injured police officials. The meeting also offered Fateha for the martyred police officials as well as prayed for the early recovery of the injured.
