Tax day observed in Mandi Bahauddin

Mandi Bahauddin(Sher Gondal): Tax day was observed here in Mandi Bahauddin district with enthusiasm. Main function was held at TMA Hall under arrangement Excise and Taxation Department. Traders, representatives of NGOs, members of civil society and teachers attended the function.

District Excise and Taxation Officer Habibullah Chhatha was the chief guest on the occasion. Addressing the function the Chief Guest said payment of tax in time makes person good citizen. He said governments all over the world are run with tax collected from public. It is the tax with which government provides civic amenities like sewerage, road construct, cleanliness and water supply. If public honestly pay tax it can bring positive changes in development and progress of the country.

He urged participants to create awareness among the public about advantages of paying tax. He stressed on people to get invoice of their payments from restaurants and other shop keepers for winning exciting prizes. This practice will also discourage traders and businessmen to evade tax. Addressing to teachers he said they could pay a positive role by high lighting importance and benefits of paying tax among their students who further be asked to convey the message to their localities.

Other speakers speaking on the occasion, included District Welfare Officer Atif Warriach, TMO and President Traders Association. The function was followed by a walk that ended in front of Press Club. Participants were carrying banners inscribed with “payment of tax in time makes a person good citizen.
