Lahore: Punjab Rangers foiled a bid to smuggle narcotics. According to the spokesman, during wee hours of 8 April, Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) troops on a tip off , raided a compound in Kasur sector and apprehended 3 smugglers , recovering 16 Kgs of Heroin from their possession.
It is also highlighted that within the span of last one month, all time vigilant troops of Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) foiled five smuggling attempts.
During the anti smuggling actions, Rangers killed 2 smugglers and apprehended 6 others. In these efforts, 230 bottles of Indian liquor and other contraband items were confiscated. Cases in this regard have been registered in Police station Mandi Usman Wala, Kanganpur, Hadiara and Mandi Ahmed Abad. Efforts are in hand to apprehend the other accomplices of smugglers and bust their networks.
Director General Pakistan Rangers (Punjab), Major General Umar Farooq Burki appreciated the efforts and vigilance of troops deployed along border, who thwarted nefarious trade of smuggling through prompt response.
