Lawyers play an important role in speedy justice :D & S judge Imtiaz Ahmad

Mandi Bahauddin(Sher Gondal) : District and Sessions Judge Imtiaz Ahmad stressed the need for cordial relations between Bench and bar. He assured of full cooperation to lawyers in effective administration of justice.

He was addressing lawyers on Monday here at District Bar Room on his posting. Referring to young lawyers he said they should work hard for demonstrating professional excellence. “There is no dispute that lawyers play an important role in speedy justice” he responded to a claim made by President DBA Nazir Salfi in his welcome address that lawyers contribution in administration of justice was 70%. Responding to appreciation by DBA president for awarding capital punishment to one SHO in a murder case of a Wazirabad lawyer he said he decided the case in the light of evidence on record and it was still sub judice in Appellate/ Lahore High Court.

Further elaborating his point he said credit went to lawyers who worked hard in preparing and presenting prosecution version in impressive manner. He urged young lawyers to work with same zeal in every case. He thanked DBA president and lawyers for arranging welcome in his honor. Other judges also accompanied the DSJ.

Earlier DBA president in his welcome address highlighted the issues concerning legal fraternity and assured full cooperation of the bar members.

Meanwhile in a separate DBA meeting MNA Mumtaz Tarar announced a grant of 2 million for Improvement of Vehicle Park in Judicial complex.  While addressing the bar he praised contribution of lawyers to strengthening democracy and upholding supremacy of law. He said his success in politics was also due to massive lawyers support. One of the lawyers invited his attention to DHQ hospital project that had been left half way and awaiting completion for the last ten years. The lawyer asked the MNA to divert all development funds for completion of the health project before initiating any other development scheme.
