Government has increased budget for the uplift of minorities :Khalil Tahir Sandhu

Lahore: Punjab Minister for Minorities Affairs and Human Rights Khalil Tahir Sandhu has said that present government has increased annual budget for welfare and uplift of minorities from Rs.10 crore to Rs. one billion.

He was talking to delegations of students, women and NGOs at his office, here today. the Minister said that Rs.3 crore are being distributed every year among brilliant minority students.

He said that a summary has been prepared to give 20 additional marks to such children as can recite Bible like Muslim Qaris recite Quran.

Khalil Tahir Sandhu said that 445 talented minority youth have been given jobs in various federal and provincial departments under five percent quota allocated by the government. He stressed upon the members of the delegations to play their due role for the progress and development of the country.
