Nawaz Sharif Kidney Hospital Swat is made functional

Lahore: Nawaz Sharif Kidney Hospital for providing latest treatment facilities to kidney patients of Swat on the behalf of Punjab government has been made functional. Provision of latest facilities in the hospital will be started within a month. Process of recruitment of 219 persons against 267 approved vacancies has been completed in this regard.

This was told by Federal Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar while presiding over a meeting at 90-Shahr-e-Quaid-e-Azam today. Additional Chief Secretary Punjab, Secretary Health, officers of P&D besides officers of Health Department KPK were also present on this occasion.

The meeting was informed that besides senior registrar and recruitment of staff for different sections, applications have again been invited for recruitment in different important sections. The meeting was further told that necessary machinery and equipments have been installed for the treatment of kidney patients which will soon be made operational.

Besides, a final shape has been given to alternate arrangements for provision of electricity in the hospital due to long duration of loadshedding in the area.

The meeting also reviewed in detail model management and decided that final recommendations by the committee should be presented to Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar upto April 8 so that a final decision could be reached on model management.

Similarly, private security will be deployed for the period of process of recruitment for the security of the hospital for ensuring foolproof security in the hospital.

Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar directed the meeting that it is vision of Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif to make Kidney Hospital functional immediately for controlling kidney disease in northern areas and for poor people at local level. He said that it will be a gift for the poor people of KPK on behalf of people of Punjab.

He said that at the end of April, Nawaz Sharif Kidney Hospital should be made functional so that treatment facilities be available to the people of the area at their doorstep.
