Punjab Chief Minister addresses the Police Darbar at Elite Centre

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the entire nation will have to fight the war unitedly for eliminating menace of terrorism. He said that besides terrorists, those facilitating them for targeting innocent citizens, women and children deserve deterrent punishment and no leniency can be shown to them. He vowed that the terrorists and their facilitators will be eliminated and the enemy will be defeated by utilizing all out energies.Shahbaz Sharif

He was addressing a police Darbar at Elite Police Training School, Badian, today.

Cabinet Members, Chief Secretary, Inspector General Police, Home Secretary, Secretaries, senior Police officers, Police jawans, heirs of Police martyrs, intellectuals and columnists attended the function in large numbers.

Shahbaz Sharif while administering oath to the participants of police darbar said “I promise with the blessings of Almighty Allah to utilize all out energies for the protection of citizens. I promise that I devote my life for the protection of sisters, daughters and brothers of the nation.” May Allah grant me courage to fulfill this promise. All participants took oath with the Chief Minister.

The Chief  Minister asked police Jawans to fight bravely against terrorists and the motherland should be purged of  them. He asked them to pledge on this day that cowardly beasts will be eliminated at every cost. He said that these brutal beasts will find no place anywhere. He said that they have to support him and we jointly pay the debt of the soil and his life will be  devoted for this mission.

He said that he has personally seen the Gulshan-e-Iqbal tragedy and cannot express that scene in words. He said that the terrorists killing innocent citizens cannot deserve to be called human. Shehbaz Sharif said that he has participated this function with a sad heart. He said that Allah Almighty made the human being a super creature in one crore ten lakh creatures as it can express its sentiments but today he is unable to express sentiments.

The Chief Minister said that he has seen the burnt dead bodies of his children and crying sisters. He said that he cannot express the Gulshan-e-Iqbal tragedy. He said whether human is worst than beasts as beasts cannot target other beasts. He said that every person is grieved over this tragic incident where in the evening of Sunday, after Maghrib prayers, a beast killed many innocent children having toys, chips and toffies in their hands.

Shahbaz Sharif said that he can never forgive these beasts and pledge to chase them till his last breath. He said that these Jawans have to support him and we will not let these beasts kill innocent children. He said that the country is facing terrorism for many decades. He said that officers and Jawans of Pak Army, their children, officers and officials of police, security agencies and the people have rendered sacrifices in the war against terrorism. He said that our brave army has broken the back of terrorists through operation Zarb-e-Azab.

The Chief Minister said that the war against terrorism will be won with mutual unity and force of the people. He said that the war against terrorism has  become the war of our survival as our sons, daughters and mothers were killed and it is impossible for us to remain silent.  He said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Commander-in-Chief General Raheel Sharif decided to launch a decisive war against terrorists and have caused irreparable loss to the terrorists through operation zarb-e-Azab.

He said that thousands of Pakistanis were martyred but their resolve did not shaken against terrorism. He said that this is not an ordinary war but it is for our survival and security of our generations. He said that this is a war between humanity and brutality and to save the ideals of Quaid and Iqbal.

Shahbaz Sharif said that this is the war of Islam as the Holy Prophet (PBUH) has said that those who kill a human, kill the entire humanity. He warned terrorists that they will find no place in mountains and they will not be allowed to kill our innocent children. Shehbaz Sharif said that this is his resolve and also of the entire nation.

The Chief Minister said that he went to the house of innocent martyr Aman Jan in Awan Market  on Feroze Pur Road. He went to Rehmat Colony to express condolence with the bereaved families of the uncle and nephew. He went to Islamia Park where three persons of a family were martyred. He also saw the shocking situation in the house of martyr Shazia of Bostan Colony. He also went to Bahar Colony to express condolence over death of Sahil Pervaiz. It was difficult to face silent questions of mothers and said environment of these homes, he added.

Shahbaz Sharif said that he cannot bring their children back but it is his promise to take revenge of the blood of these innocent persons with the support of the nation. He said that now these beasts hidden in nook and corner should not reach the innocent children, men and women. He asked Jawans to fight for eliminating  these terrorists and their facilitators. He said that hideouts of these terrorists will be eliminating.

Addressing to police jawans, the Chief Minister promised that all out resources will be provided to them and expressed determination to fulfill their needs by curtailing expenditure. You have to move forward to defeat the enemies by utilizing your full capabilities, he asked the jawans. He also appealed to the nation to extend support for complete eradication of terrorism.

He said that supporters of these cowards targeting women and children also deserve the same fate and no leniency will be shown to them. He said that journalists are also present in today’ function who have the ability to mould public opinion. He said that media has played a responsible role in recent incidents of terrorism, however, a few have ignored the national interests.

He said that words of a pen and angle of camera should not become a source of publicity of any beast. He said that media promotes unity, solidarity and harmony. A heavy responsibility lies also on media at this important juncture of the history, he added. He also appealed to government officers and employees to devote all their capabilities for the service to the nation and the country at this difficult time and supplement the efforts of the people and government in the war against terrorism.

He said that we have to save our children, mothers, sisters, daughters and the motherland from the terrorists. He said that every person is important to defeat the enemies of humanity in this war and also role of every person is of paramount importance. He said that brave nation can never be afraid of terrorist activities and its determination cannot become weak due to these cowardly acts. Speaking on the occasion, Inspector General Police said that Punjab police has started taking measures for its capacity-building in accordance with the vision of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, which is aimed at protection of life and property and service to the people. He said that prominent change will be brought in police stations of Punjab at the end of current year.

He said that Punjab Police is honouring its promise of service and protection of masses through action against terrorists and criminals without any fear. He said that Punjab police will not rest content till taking terrorists and criminals to task under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.

In the end of Police Darbar, Fateha was also offered for the departed souls of those who died in Gulshan Iqbal Park tragedy.
