There is any no go area nor safe hideout of terrorists in Punjab: Rana Sana

Minister Law Rana Sanaullah KhanLahore: Provincial Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs, Rana Sanaullah Khan has strongly condemned Gulshan Iqbal tragedy and said that the entire nation is grieved over the incident. He said that provincial government will give financial assistance of Rs. 10 lakh each to the families of those died in the incident and three lakh rupees to each injured person.

He was addressing a press conference at 90-Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam, here today. Spokesman Punjab government Zaeem Qadri, Parliamentary Secretary Rana Arshad, Secretary Home Azam Salman, Secretary Information Momin Agha, IG Punjab Mushtaq Sukhera and DGPR Raja Jahangir Anwar were also present on the occasion.

Rana Sanaullah said that Jawans and officers of police, rangers, civil secret agencies and Pak-Army are included in the operation continuing in Punjab. He said that in addition to rangers, 8200 troops are rendering their duties in operation in Punjab. He said that majority of operation are intelligence based operations (IBOs).

He claimed that neither there is any no go area nor safe hide out of terrorists in Punjab. He said that geo-tagging of more than 1500 seminaries has been carried out in the province. He said that number of persons including in fourth schedule is 1550 while out of these, about 1000 are under arrest.

Rana Sanaullah said that after the orders of Prime Minister to increase number of IBOs and enhance contacts between law enforcement agencies, 56 operations have been conducted by police, 16 by CTD, 88 jointly by local police and secret agencies within 24 hours so far. He said that during these operations, 5221 persons have been arrested out of which 5005 released after inquiry while 216 are under arrest for interrogation. He said that the entire world is victim of terrorism and recent incidents of terrorism in Brussels, Russia and Turkey are its proof.

Rana Sanaullah said that Punjab government killed 88 jet-black terrorists in 2015 while 24 jet-black terrorists have been killed during current year so far.

He said that payment process will be completed within two to three days. He said that Punjab Chief Minister has assured treatment of very serious injured persons abroad. He said that operation against terrorists and their facilitators is already continuing under National Action Plan in Punjab while Prime Minister has issued orders to further expedite it. JIT headed by SSP CTD has been constituted on Gulshan Iqbal tragedy, he added.
