Lahore: Extensive sports activity is in progress in all the major cities of the province and tens of thousands of people are showing their skills in various games.
Sports Board Punjab is holding these sports at seven main districts of the province with a purpose to mark the Pakistan Day celebrations. Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar has issued special instructions to the district sports officials to ensure the day is celebrated in a befitting manner. At Nankana Sahib, Govt Guru Nanak Degree College beat Punjab College in the Inter-collegiate Tape-ball Cricket Tournament.
Similarly, kabaddi matches were held at Mandi Bahauddin, in which the host team overpowered Phalia.
A football match was conducted at Jhang and win landed in favour of Khokhara Club and Young Stars Club. Khokhara beat City Club while Young Stars prevailed Papu Club.
In a similar activity for football clubs at Sahiwal, AlHalal Red Football Club beat Alhalal Greens.
Faridia Club proved far too strong for Hafiz Hassan Club in Inter Club Hockey Tournament, Ameenia Club beat Baba Freed Club. Haideri Club beat United Club in the Inter Club Hockey. Freedia Club beat Sports Club.
Reenala Khurd beat Okara in a kabaddi match held at Okara. Greens beat Whites in a criket match held at Bahawalpur. And rain in Toba Tek Singh badly hampered the sports activity and a cricket match could not be played there.
