Quality teachers training for educational development is indispensable:Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad

Lahore: Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad has said that quality teachers training on modern professional standards for educational development is indispensable. Teachers are builders of nation and an agent for positives and constructive social changes. University of Education has a unique position among all public and private sector universities of Pakistan due to providing quality education and teachers as well.

He expressed these views through video link address on ending session of three days fourth international conference on “Education and Research” being organized by University of Education, Lahore.

Addressing the ceremony, Chairman HEC Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad said that universities not only provide higher education but also prove a helping hand to maintain and strengthen social bonds among people. “To serve humanity and create new knowledge is core purpose of education and research” he added. He said that unfortunately 24 million adults and children are out of school while approximately eight or nine out of hundred people get access to higher education.

Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad stressed on education and research as first priority by recognizing our responsibilities to overcome education problems and issues in well manner.

Moreover, he emphasized that proper licensing mechanism for teaching jobs should be considered and he also instructed to appoint professional and dedicated faculty in higher education institutions.

Vice Chancellor, University of Education Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam, in his address said that teachers’ training in getting hundred percent results is very important. For enhancing teacher’s competency and capability, there should be an effective system and mechanism. He emphasized the role of higher educational institutes and stressed the participants to discuss and present a concrete solution to solve out real problems of education. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Rauf-i- Azam paid special thanks to Chairman HEC Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed on his valuable speech and also admired the efforts of conference organizing committees on arranging such a successful conference on education and research.

The basic objective of conference was to discuss current challenges and problems by highlighting the core purpose and different approaches of research and education and also to make an authentic forum for effective learning. More than 96 scholars presented research papers on different approaches and aspects of education while renowned scholars from Germany,

England, Canada, Saudi Arab and other countries also participated.

VC’s of various universities, varsity directors and principals, national and international scholars, renowned educationists, thinkers, teachers and a large number of students also attended the conference.
