Lahore: Punjab Education Foundation has started the mammoth exercise of distributing free textbooks to the partnering schools for the academic year 2016-17. During this exercise, 7.1 million textbooks will be given to the school partners across Punjab.
According to the plan, 336 PEF school partners in Multan tehsil will be given four lakh and forty thousand books from March 29 to April 2. Similarly, 337 partner schools of Dera Ghazi Khan and Kot Chutta tehsils will get a total of three lakh and 54 thousand books from March 29 to April first. PEF has set up a total of 58 distribution points in 36 districts for the purpose of books distribution.
Meanwhile, Punjab Education Foundation has asked the partner schools to fully cooperate with the punjab government for getting single click emergency alert system, introduced by the provincial government in collaboration with a cellular company.
